It’s official: Geistlich Fibro-Gide® has been launched

The 2017 EAO in Madrid with more than 4,000 participants was the perfect platform for the official launch of Geistlich Fibro-Gide®, the alternative to connective tissue grafts. Geistlich Biomaterials properly celebrated this event with its customers, paying tribute to 10 years of successful research.

Shhhhhh…something new is going on! The secret will be uncovered at the EAO Madrid! And so it was, in a thrilling and engaging way.

During the entire first day of the congress, in front of an eye-catcher booth completely curtained, a big panel displaying the question “Connective tissue graft – anything else?” and a countdown shown on a screen were only some of the elements that contributed to further increasing suspense among the congress visitors. Finally, at 5 pm the desire was satisfied: Geistlich Fibro-Gide® was introduced in a symposium crowded with over 1,200 attendees. It was well received and rated as attractive, for which thanks go to the luminaries Prof. Christoph Hämmerle, Prof. Mariano Sanz, Prof. Giovanni Zucchelli and Dr. Daniel Thoma. For two hours, they scientifically presented Geistlich Fibro-Gide® in light of the question: “When do autogenous grafts remain the gold standard – and when can they be replaced by the Geistlich innovative biomaterial solution?” An interactive panel discussion rounded off the symposium amidst the general enthusiasm of all participants. From the second day onwards, the interest in Geistlich Fibro-Gide® was clearly visible. The stand was shown in all its parts: product brochures, of which there were never sufficient numbers, a large 3D-printed Geistlich Fibro-Gide® just under 30 cm² in size and crowded working stations allowed the visitors to convince themselves of the properties of the matrix and its stable scientific base.

Last but not least, Geistlich organized a well-attended press conference with international journalists and two hands-on workshops on site, prolonged beyond the planned times due to the outstanding interest. In addition to Dr. Thoma, also Dr. Sanz Martin and Dr. Vignoletti demonstrated their working technique and taught it to the workshop participants. The intensive and much-lauded programme was staged with around 30 enthusiastic dentists attending each workshop. Unsurprisingly, most congress visitors had come from Spain; France and Japan were the other two of the “top three“ countries of origin.

Geistlich Biomaterials used this splendid event to thank all its customers for their great confidence, all the researchers for their initiatives in underpinning our products with evidence, and all of you for having contributed to this great success!
